History
Established in 1986, Richard Lenard began his real estate career shortly after his retirement as an American Airlines pilot. A friend of Richard’s owned a small realty office in the center of Smithtown and persuaded him to give it a try. From the beginning, Richard showed an innate talent for providing a service well above the norm. Barbara Lenard, Richard’s wife, was a school teacher in Queens and commuted every work day from Smithtown. She initially received her license to support her husband’s growing business when she could. Eventually, she too was working full time and offering great organization and research skills to their business. Their two children, Danielle and Jon-David’s exposure to Richard and Barbara’s business began at a young age where they could often be found studying their homework on Sundays at open houses. Eventually, they graduated college and also joined full time to make a carreer in the family business.
